How to Maintain Your New Freeze Block Coil

by | Aug 14, 2017

Tips to follow for the best experience with your new Freeze Block Coil.

We’re thrilled you’ve decided to purchase our Freeze Block technology! Rest assured that your Freeze Block coil will fit and function as well or better than the original coil. That’s our guarantee! Our team of experts ensures this so you can get up and running with minimal downtime.

Your new Cooney Freeze Block coil will work on day one! There are, however a few things you can do to make it operate even better!

Tips For Setting Up Your New Freeze Block Technology

Here are a few steps you can take to make sure that your HVAC unit continues to operate smoothly long after the Freeze Block coil is installed:

  • freeze block coilSet up and follow a regular maintenance schedule.

This may seem elementary, but you’d be surprised at how many people shirk this simple task. By setting a regular maintenance schedule, you make sure that you catch any problems early. And by keeping everything in working order, you minimize the stress on the system. Keep the machine happy and figuratively well-oiled (not literally, unless you really know what you’re doing!) and it will last you decades.

  • Clean your drain pan regularly.

A drain pan isn’t just for condensate. When the Freeze Block™ coil activates, it releases liquid from a valve that needs a drain pan to catch it. The drain pan on your HVAC unit will work, but will occasionally have much more liquid in it than usual (a sign that the Freeze Block Valve has activated!). If this liquid stays in the pan for too long, it can bring on a whole new set of issues!

  • Use our Smart Coil System

One of the best ways to make sure you’re getting your money’s worth is by using our Smart Coil Technology. This sensor fits clips onto our Freeze Block™ Valve and triggers when the Freeze Block coil activates. The Smart Coil can send a signal to your BMS and do a number of things, including turning off the fans, closing the dampers, and most importantly alerting your team of the issue! If you want control over how your system responds to a freeze, look no further than Smart Coil.

Now that you have implemented Freeze Block technology, you shouldn’t have to worry about freezes rupturing your coil and damaging your equipment.
